Collection Kit

Collection kits must be sent back using First Class Signed For, 24 hour Tracked or Special Delivery, please do not send items as First Class unsigned or Second Class unsigned/signed for. Unfortunately, we're unable to take on postal responsibility for lost or damaged kits. Please provide us with the tracking number, so we can both check the parcel, this can be done via email (jadejones@pandoralillykeepsakes.co.uk), please quote your name and order number too.

All kits will contain a return address (we do not provide paid for return labels), a business card, two plastic bags with your name and order number (this is the external bag), and smaller ones for the inclusions and the appropriate pots or/or tubes. Please reuse the box, or use one similar when posting back to us and try not to over-tape the parcel, there's no need for tape on tubes or pots and too much tape externally will mean it's harder for us to get to your items and this may run the risk of damaging the contents.

  • Tip: label or state what you’re sending as “Jewellery Making Item/supplies” (you may struggle if you are too specific about what you’re sending!)

Breastmilk - Please do not send us everything you have, it may get lost in the post or we may need to request more.
Breastmilk collection kits will contain two 10ml tubes, we ask that you try and aim for 15ml if possible as this ensures we can remake or provide further pieces in the future as we keep the milk for two years after receipt.

  1. Pour your defrosted and/or freshly pumped milk into the tubes.

  2. Tighten the lid firmly, but not too tight as this may crack the tube or break the thread. Turn them upside down to check for leaks.

  3. Add them both to the smaller plastic bag, remove all the air and seal the bag tightly.

  4. Place that bag, into the larger bag provided it will have been labelled with your name and order number, along with any other appropriately bagged inclusions.

  5. Package them snugly into the original parcel box, tape it up and stick on the address labels provided.

  6. Send via Royal Mail Special Delivery ® immediately, it absolutely must be sent the same day before your post office's last collection.

Cremation Ashes - Please do not send us everything you have, it may get lost in the post or we may need to request more.
Ashes collection kits will contain a small round screw cap pot, we ask that you add a quarter of a teaspoon only, if you have access to less we will do what we can for you, please do not fill the pot as it may spill when we open it. Any unused ashes will be returned to you along with the finished pieces. Ashes from separate urns can be combined by us but we ask that they are sent in separate pots.

  1. When collecting ashes, make sure you are seated at a table that has been lined with plastic or newspaper so any spills can be returned to the urn. If your urn is sealed, you may be able to contact the crematorium and ask them to do this part for you so double-check before ordering.

  2. Use a clean teaspoon and scoop 1/4tsp of ashes into the pot, please refer to our image below for a visually appropriate amount.

  3. Tighten the lid firmly, but not too tight as this may crack the lid or break the thread.

  4. Place it into the smaller plastic bag, remove all the air and seal the bag tightly.

  5. Place that bag, into the larger bag provided it will have been labelled with your name and order number, along with any other appropriately bagged inclusions.

  6. Package them snugly into the original parcel box, tape it up and stick on the address labels provided.

  7. Send via Royal Mail Special Delivery ® when you're able to.

Hair or Fur - Please do not send us everything you have, it may get lost in the post or we may need to request more.
Hair or Fur collection kits will contain a small round screw cap pot, we ask that you add a small tuft, if you have access to less we will do what we can for you. Any unused strands will be returned to you along with the finished pieces. Hairs or fur can be combined by us but we ask that they are sent in separate pots.

  1. Tie up the hair or fur with a small piece of cotton thread to keep it together and curl it inside the pot, please do not fold it, or use anything with sticky residue like tape or a post-it-note as this renders the hair unusable for resin.

  2. Tighten the lid firmly, but not too tight as this may crack the lid or break the thread.

  3. Place it into the smaller plastic bag, remove all the air and seal the bag tightly.

  4. Place that bag, into the larger bag provided it will have been labelled with your name and order number, along with any other appropriately bagged inclusions.

  5. Package them snugly into the original parcel box, tape it up and stick on the address labels provided.

  6. Send via Royal Mail Special Delivery ® when you're able to.

Umbilical Cord, Placenta or any birthing tissue - Please do not send us everything you have, it may get lost in the post or we may need to request more.
Umbilical Cord and Placenta collection kits will contain a small round screw cap pot, we ask that you add a small orange seed sized piece of cord/placenta/tissue, that is completely dried out. (do not send raw/slightly squishy tissue to me, it will be immediately discarded. If you need instructions on how to dry tissues, please message me at jadejones@pandoralillykeepsakes.co.uk and I will talk you through it.) or, half a capsule of placenta powder, if you have access to less we will do what we can for you. Any unused bits will be returned to you along with the finished pieces. Cords and placenta can be combined by us but we ask that they are sent in separate pots.

  1. Snip off a small piece of cord, please do not include the clip.

  6. Send via Royal Mail Special Delivery ® immediately, it absolutely must be sent the same day before your post offices last collection.

Blood

Blood collection kits will contain one 10ml tube, we ask that you purchase your own SafetyLancets in order to break the skin and provide a blood sample. Try and aim for as much as possible as this ensures we can remake the jewellery if there are any errors. Please only return the sample once it has completely dried out. (do not send liquid/mostly dry blood to me, it will be immediately discarded.)

  1. Collect it in the tube directly, if you are unable to collect enough at once, you can collect small amounts at a time. To do this, you can freeze the tube between each retrieval, and add to it each time.

  2. Once you have collected enough, the blood then needs to dry out fully, leaving the tube in a warm place, such as an airing cupboard, leaving the lid on, but not fully tight to allow moisture to escape.

  3. Once fully dry tighten the lid firmly, but not too tight as this may crack the tube or break the thread.

  4. Place the tube into the smaller plastic bag, remove all the air and seal the bag tightly.

  5. Place that bag, into the larger bag provided it will have been labelled with your name and order number, along with any other appropriately bagged inclusions.

  6. Package them snugly into the original parcel box, tape it up and stick on the address labels provided.

  7. Send via Royal Mail Special Delivery ®

  8. If the post office asks what is inside, you can simply reply "Jewellery making item/supplies", while it is legal to ship bodily fluids via post, many post offices aren't aware, this will cause delays and awkward conversations.

Other Bodily Fluids

Bodily fluid collection kits will contain one 10ml tube, we ask that you try and aim for at least 5ml if possible as this ensures we can remake the jewellery if there are any errors.

  1. Pour your fluid into the tubes, or collect it in the tube directly, if you are unable to collect 5ml at once, you can collect small amounts at a time. To do this, you can freeze the tube between each retrieval, and add to it each time.

  2. Tighten the lid firmly, but not too tight as this may crack the tube or break the thread. Turn it upside down to check for leaks.

  3. Place the tube into the smaller plastic bag, remove all the air and seal the bag tightly.

  4. Add your bagged tube to the freezer for at least 24 hours, or until you are ready to ship within the hour.

  5. Place that bag, into the larger bag provided it will have been labelled with your name and order number, along with any other appropriately bagged inclusions.
